The Allentown Village Initiative began August 2013 by volunteers dedicated to revitalizing the economy, improving the visual and cohesive appeal of the historic village in its setting, the environment, and the experience of living, working, and investing, in Allentown, New Jersey.
Community members, we need your help!  The Allentown Village Initiative is raising money to replace the white wooden Welcome signage with materials better suited to endure the elements and extreme external conditions.
These six wrought iron cutouts and sign boards were custom designed by local artists and are located on the main roads entering Allentown. Our efforts to recreate and install these sign boards cannot take effect unless we have the funding and the support of our community!  With your participation in this painting event, you will have a part in welcoming motorists and visitors as they enter our historic village.

Hi Carol,
Happy to share more! The evening planned will be a painting class at the Green Lace Lion to recreate the Old Mill painting example above. TAVI members and others in the community will be sharing stories about the history of Allentown as well as the upcoming project (supported by this fundraiser) to repair/replace the town signs.
TAVI will also be providing food & refreshments. We expect this to be a fun event and a lovely evening. Hope you can come.
If you have any other questions, please feel free to send an email to [email protected].
