Celebrate spring with a walk – a “TAVI Tours” walk through historic Allentown during this year’s “Spring Stroll” street festival on Saturday, April 25, 2026. Three offered tours will lead participants approximately one mile around town to learn about and enjoy
architectural gems, the 19th Century Underground Railroad and notable residents buried in historic cemeteries. Each tour begins with a live introduction in the Allentown Library Community Room (16 S. Main St.) and includes a map for your own self-guided stroll through town. The schedule of tours is as follows:

Meet in the Allentown Library Community Room, 16 S. Main St., Allentown
10:30 a.m. - Allentown Architecture – Colonial, Victorian, Revival & more – Classic designs in town and their historical significance.
12 Noon – Underground Railroad – Our community’s role in the struggle for freedom.
1:00 p.m. - Historic Cemeteries – Who lies there? Visit the graves of remarkable local residents.
Participants are asked to register in advance at www.allentownvinj.org to ensure a map copy is available; Walk-ins, are also welcome at the time of the tour. There is a suggested donation of $5 per tour map.
The Historic Walking Tours come to Allentown courtesy of The Allentown Village Initiative (TAVI), a volunteer-driven 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose focus is on local history education and historic preservation, natural resource protection, economic
development, and the arts and culture.
A quaint and quiet town of 1,800 residents set apart from the bustle of urban New Jersey, Allentown is conveniently located just minutes from Exit 7a on the New Jersey Turnpike, one hour south of New York City, and less than an hour north of Philadelphia.
